DEATH STARby Michael Reaves and Steve Perry
Hello and welcome to my review of
Death Star. First let me start off by saying that I really enjoyed this read. Quickest I've ever read a book. Anyhoo, it consists of 75 relatively short chapters. The book centers around the last year of it's construction and the people involved in it, their various agendas and the politics of it all. It was very well written I thought and kept me wanting to read more. The last several chapters of the book cleverly mirror Episode IV, but entirely from the Empire's point of view. So the ending is fun, albeit alittle predictable. The characters in it where also very well done. This book brings together certain characters from Episode IV, with what we call Expanded Universe characters made up for the book and atleast two EU characters who appeared in previous SW books. A few of the main characters where even created from mere background extras in EPIV.
The book follows the same formula that Independence Day did. The beginning and middle are about the various characters doing their own thing, separate from one another (for the most part) until all their stories come together in the book's ending. Get it?
I don't want to give away the ending, but...
- Spoiler:
The Death Star blows up!
At any rate, I highly enjoyed this books and recommend that you read it too!! I'll even read it again someday...yes I think I will.
Good day to you all.
