That's right, this is a Star Trek thread. Among the community over at Star Wars.com, I'm probably one of the biggest Trekkies they got. Anyone else here enjoy Star Trek, if even occasionally??

I never really got into star trek. I do want to try to watch some of the shows and movies. I probably will go and see the new one also. Thanks for telling me about all the movies and TV series.

Nice to see a Star Wars fan with an open mind about Star Trek. All too often I've SW fans act like idiots when it comes to Star Trek.

As I stated, DS9 is my favorite Star Trek series. If not the first couple of seasons, but the series as a whole is what I would call "A Star Wars fan's Star Trek".

The only ST series I ever enjoyed were (original) Star Trek, and Next Generation.
They had flavor, excitement, suspense, and dare I say, messages between the lines.

Another reason I prefer them is their lack of similarity to Star Wars. It is possible to watch too many Star Wars films and desire a refreshing break.

I used to think that any Harrison Ford film had to have at least limited watchability and entertainment value. Then I saw "Witness."

Oh I agree about TOS and TNG. Excellent shows.

Even though I said that DS9 is a "Star Wars Fan's Star Trek", it's still not so similar to Star Wars that it seems unoriginal.

And the series as a whole does in fact have everything you said about TOS and TNG.

But It's still very different.

Here's an analogy I like to use. You know how different ANH and TESB are?? DS9 is to TNG as TESB is to ANH.
